Psst. Can you keep a secret? Good. Salt Lake City native Baya Voce can, too! In fact, staying mum is the prerequisite behind her experiential and experimental concept, Secret SLC.

Who is Baya Voce?

A self-described speaker, advisor, and relationships curator, Voce says it was her time on MTV’s “The Real World,” that launched her fascination with relationships and how, along with connections, they impact every aspect of our lives.

What is Secret SLC?

An event that brings together local leaders who are influencing and shaping the future of downtown Salt Lake City. Over a social meal, individuals from various industries ideate, collaborate, and partner for the greater good.

Where is it held?

At different, invite-only secret locations. For the recent ‘Dirty 30’ party celebrating the Utah Aids Foundation’s 30th anniversary, guests received a cupcake dropped at their doorstep with a note that read, “Please eat carefully. There is a secret inside.” The invite gave instructions to wear white to a location that would be revealed the day of. Without a plus one, or knowing why they were invited, guests showed up to an alley wearing all white and were served all-white food and cocktails, took pictures on a white couch with white props, and danced to a live Motown band, Joshy Soul The white juxtaposed against the colorful alley symbolized a clean slate and progress for the next 30 years.

Why hold these events?

According to Voce, powerful relationships have an infinite capacity to cause change. Secret SLC is the stage, the space, and the shared experience for those relationships to build.
